ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Nathan Fender. I am passionate about music education - especially orchestra (strings) music, the violin, piano and healthy living. I graduated in 2017 with a degree in Religion and was a part-time pastor for one year. Around that time I realized that, while I enjoyed doing pastoral ministry, my biggest passion and where I felt happiest was in music ministry and teaching music. I decided to go back to school to study Music Education at Missouri State University (MSU) in Springfield, MO. I chose MSU because my now wife, Amanda, is an elementary school teacher in Springfield, MO.
I currently work as the orchestra teacher/director at Reed Middle School Academy & Hillcrest High School in Springfield, MO. I also teach private music lessons and am the part-time music teacher at Springfield SDA Junior Academy. I graduated in May 2022 with my Bachelors in Music Education degree. In my free time I enjoy cooking with my fiancée, learning new instruments, and traveling.
Contact me about playing the violin for weddings, churches, and special events or for teaching violin, piano, and beginner acoustic guitar lessons. I've been playing the violin and piano since I was 4 years old and still love it.
